First Visit Experience

Knowing what to expect when you begin health care at Burford Spinal Rehab will help you understand what we are doing and why. We have found that the more a person understands about the process, the better the results. What follows is a brief overview of what will happen on your next two office visits.

First Office Visit

All care begins with an initial consultation and short video. Should you decide to become a client at our office an examination will then be done. This exam will help you by gaining a detailed history of your health and lifestyle. You may be asked questions about your medical history, family history, dietary habits, occupation, etc. Questions about your symptoms are especially important, such as: "How long have you had the problem(s)?" "How did it start?""Does anything make it worse?", "Does anything make it better?" and so on.

Once your history has been discussed, a physical examination will be conducted. Depending on the situation, basic information will be collected such as: blood pressure, height, weight, reflex response, and range of motion. A spinal examination exam including muscle and posture tests will be performed to detect abnormalities affecting or causing your condition. Diagnostic studies may be done.

Once all the data has been collected, your condition will be assessed. We will then determine if you are a candidate for chiropractic care, or whether you need to be referred to another health-care professional. Usually, we present the diagnosis and treatment plan to you on your second office visit.

Second Office Visit - Review of Findings

first_visit.jpgDuring the second visit, we present your treatment plan to you. We will then tell you the amount of improvement you can expect with our care, as well as how long it will likely take to achieve meaningful results. You will be started on an individualized treatment plan that will include some of the following: physical therapy, massage, strengthening exercises, stretching exercises, diet suggestions, and other lifestyle recommendations.

With your input, both short-and long-term goals will be established. The resulting treatment plan will provide you with a clear understanding of where you are, where you want to be, and how we will get there.

It's Your Future. Be There Healthy!
